A first for Bass Pro (not official). I was told that Bass Pro has NEVER had an aerial photo of their grand opening. That's all it took for me. I like "firsts." For instance, first date. first kiss, first love, first car, first best friend, first girlfriend, first job, etc. It is all stuff we always remember. To me, first are special. I strive to be first at a lot of things. Also, Bass Pro has never been in south Louisiana. Kind of like their 'first,' too!!!!
We had to get the sun, shadows, and light just right. The way Bass Pro is facing required us to catch the sun in the east. This meant taking the photo before noon. I was a bit concerned that nobody would be there. Scheduling stuff for me, the airplane, pilot, and photographer; we had to shoot on a Sunday and we thought the place might be empty. As my ex-wife will tell you, "Boy, was I wrong!" The parking lot was packed, police everywhere, and a line of cars trying to get in. Now, IF that is Sunday morning BEFORE noon, can you imagine a Saturday afternoon?

I kind of think Bass Pro is going to be around for a while. Welcome to the neighborhood! They don't call Louisiana "Sport Men's Paradise" for nothing. It looks like a winning combination to me. How about you?
