Note: The "Official Website" for Crazy Charlie is (and will always be)
www.DundeeProductions.com. The
site has NOT been updated since his passing in
July, '09.
The site has not ended and will be updated in the future
for sure. When the site is updated, I will be one of the first to let you
know.

WE WANT YOU on May 1st & May 2nd!
Newsflash: (Posted 2-2-10) (More details coming later) Boat Processions For Crazy Charlie! (Updated 2-3-10)
I had hoped something special would happen if the folks at Crazy Charlie's
Blood River Landing were not able to host The Krewe of Wrecks
and / or The Tickfaw 200 in 2010. Note: I did say were not able;
everyone close to Charlie did their best to pull off carrying on his events in
2010.
For a lot of reasons, they
had constraints and just couldn't do it this year. They gave it their best
shot. Now, 2011, (I am told) it's gonna be on
like a chicken bone!
Of course, it will not be same.
We don't have Charlie. Charlie was NOT the
"life of the party." I'd like to set that straight.
Charlie WAS THE PARTY! Those Charlie left to run things will continue to do
their very best to carry on his causes, his marina, and the events he
worked so
hard to host each year. Charlie, however, is a very difficult act for
anyone to follow. Let's all give them our support, as they try to carry
on what Charlie would want them to do.

May 1st and May 2nd: We are doing
something similar to the boat procession of 2009. Here is what I know so
far: On May 1st, boats will meet at
Blood River Landing
and be ready to roll at 9:00 AM. We will have a boat procession from there
and move out to Lake Maurepas.
(LA Dept of W & F, Sheriff Office
River Patrols,
numerous Police Departments, and EMS / Fire Departments will serve as escorts or
be in the procession).
At the lake, boats will disburse and go their own
way.
Note: The general public must stay on their boats while in the area of
Blood River Landing.
We want ALL boat in this procession, especially those
that have supported
The Tickfaw 200 every year, making it the largest (and most fun) poker run in
Louisiana
and voted one of the best poker runs in North America! Not just
power boats,
EVERYONE is welcome. (I will riding my water cycle (jet ski) again this
year).
Bateaux, pirogues, power boats, house boats, party barges, BRING IT
ON. I hope a lot of
Charlie's biker buddies have boats (or friends with boats) and make it, too.
(These were the people I hung out with at Charlie's funeral and I was glad I got
to meet them). Charlie had friends from all walks of life. Some that
didn't have much,
some that are millionaires. They were all the same to Charlie. If he
knew you and liked you, you were his friend, no matter where you were or who
else was there.
For example: Charlie was on the set when they shot scenes
from a movie at Canal Bank a few years back. The actors (and especially
the actresses) loved and
looked up to Charlie. However, the Mexican dudes that served food in the
chow line to those on the set; Charlie would cut up with him and they thought
the world
of Charlie, too. Talking to them in Coon-Ass Spanish, and wanting to hook
up with their sisters. They looked forward to seeing Charlie everyday.
That was our Crazy Skipper and that's what he did for people.
Back on subject:
It is important to know that this event (and the procession the next
day) are with the approval of Joey, Ruby, and Ron.
If you don't know who they are, these are
the folks
closest to Charlie (outside of family) and are in charge of Blood River Landing
and trusted with carrying on Charlie's legacy.
I'd like to tell people how the family and those closest to Charlie
shared with me the good feeling they had when they saw the Hwy 22 bridge lined
up with people
as the
boat procession went by. It really, really touched them in a warm and
special way and meant a lot. Charlie's nephew, Darryle, told me many times
how much
it meant to him.
On May 2nd, (Sunday) boats will be meeting at Lake Maurepas at 9:00
AM. The procession will go back to Blood River Landing.
Again, the general public can't depart their boat. No details yet of what
will happen, but I am sure it will be special and worthy of Charlie's
memory. If you weren't there last year, here is what I was able to capture
of the day (and some lagniappe I through in, as well).

Note: At The Prop Stop, they are putting up a "big board" for
EVERYONE to sign. This board with everyone's signature (that participates
in the
processions), will be presented to Joey, Ron, and Ruby (for The Fun House)
showing our full support for The Tickfaw 200 and and that we are behind them,
we support them, we care about them, and we got their back!. See you there. I hope they
have a really big board, because I think we will
fill it up!
(might have to get another board....or sign both sides). ....we'll figure
something out. Write small!)
More to come, check back!
...and remember, we want to see
YOU there.
(it's for Charlie and let's
ALL make it worthy of his memory)

Charlie's world famous "Cigarette Power Boat" being towed in the procession last
year, carrying his "do" rag,
wreath (that was placed at The Fun House), white rubber boots ( his "Coon-Ass Reeboks"), and pirate flag.
