What we are planning at our Weekly Crawfish Cook-off's!  (12-23-09)

Besides our cool judges that you get to visit, hang out with, and talk to, we have another twist.  A lot of people are aware of a "Mini-Pot Jambalaya Cook-off."  Well, we drank a bunch of Natural Lights and came up with something different!  A mini crawfish cook-off.  For example, let's say we have 10 people enter our cook-off.  Each contestant boil { for example} 8 pounds of crawfish.  We take the crawfish from each contestant, put on identical trays (name taped on bottom of tray), AND the contestants that cooked the crawfish sample each of the entries and pick their favorite (obviously WITHOUT knowing who cooked what).  How fun is that?

We STILL have our notable judges to critique our new recipe and to try those of the contestants, too.  However,,,,, to include the cooks, too, in the judging, was too good of an idea to pass up!

We don't have everything worked out.  For example, do we require the contestants boiling crawfish to use smaller pots?  {Probably not}.  Also, do we used 8 pounds of crawfish?  Obviously we don't want 10 (perhaps more) boiling entire sacks of crawfish:  it would be too many cooked for our little cook-offs.  We are working on how much for each to boil.

So if you like to boil crawfish, like meeting people, like having fun, and want to do something different; consider participating.  If you want to have fun, eat crawfish, and learn a lot; consider attending.

Note:  We would like to give out door prizes and prizes for our contestants.  Looking for sponsors.  Contact rob@riverratrob.com if you'd like to be a part of it.

P.S.  Got an idea or suggestion?  We'd like to hear from you, too.  Remember, it's all 'Just For Fun.'
