Partying at The Prop Stop!

It's The Prop Stop Summer Blowout with River Rat Rob and Friends!
(Links to some of our friends are at the bottom of the page).

Updated 7-5-09

If the dock is full of boats tied up, FEAR NOT!  The Prop Stop has their own taxi to shuttle people to and from.  This way, people can ride in, hang out and have a good time, get food and / or drinks and back to their boats.  (Remember, under 21 years old can not be at The Prop Stop, but no problem if they hang out on their boats, float, etc.)  Never, ever leave small kids unattended.  Swimming?  Have a life jacket, noodle, throw able floatation, raft, tube, etc.  Respect the river.  No drowning allowed!

Updated 7-2-09

This is very cool!  Not everybody owns a boat (or knows someone that does).  Captain Bobbie and The Tickfaw Water Taxi (if there is enough people) will be making hourly runs to the Hwy 22 Bridge Public Boat Launch.  Contact her now  to make your reservation, if you are interested.  This is a great opportunity for those that have NEVER been to the Prop Stop to make the trip and have a good time.  Visit the website and contact them:
                  http://www.bayouriverboatadventures.com/    (Tickfaw Water Taxi).

At our first JAM, we had a bunch of The Hooters Girls.  When they took the stage, it was electrifying and hugely exciting to say the least.
The Hooter's Girls want to come back.  A rumor they might be there and some of them just might enter our wet t-shirt contest.  Many of the Hooter's Girls have never been to The Prop Stop.  This should be interesting!  (I should have confirmation on this in the next day or so).
Note:  For insurance and liability purposes, they will be off the clock and not representing Hooter's.  Just wanted to make that clear.  They are on their OWN TIME and having FUN!!!!!

Again, we will auction a number of spots for being a judge at the wet t-shirt contest.  I am talking to the owners of Prop Stop to see how they want to auction off the judges spots.  We might do one a week or something before the Aug 22nd date.  We will let you know.  As always, check back!!!

Weather permitting, here is what we have planned!  (6-26-09)  Several changes, please read.  More updates on the way.

When:  August 22nd, 2009  (from 3:00 p.m. 'til whenever)

Where:  The Prop Stop, Tickfaw River

Who:  One Less Set  (St Amant Rock and Roll Band)  Opened at The JAM, Morgan City.  I like and believe in this band.
Band to start at 3:00 PM and goes to 6:00 PM and then the wet t-shirt contest.  They will be playing out front from
the upper deck, overlooking the docked boats AND the Tickfaw River.  (Not on the deck in the back).

Why?  I'd like to have a big party for all the great people that traveled down to Morgan City from Livingston / Ascension
Parish for The JAM.  My friends at The Prop Stop would like to have a party, too.  They'd like to see a "live" band
playing there (it's been a while).  The new owners of The Prop Stop (Lance & Kathy Valentine) would like everyone to
come have a good time, check out The New Prop Stop, and say hello.

Planned:  Wet T-Shirt contest at 6:30 PM.   IMPORTANT:  For now, the plan is to auction off some of the judges spots for the
wet t-shirt contest.  Those that win the auction get to join the "celebrity judges" of which Crazy Charlie is one and a rumor
I just might get to be one, too.  The more pretty girls that enter the more the guys will bid to be a judge, which means more
more money for the winner.  The more money to be won means more pretty girls will enter.  Should be FUN!!!!

Planned:  EMS Units on site, just in case there is an accident.  We like to keep things safe..  (Springfield Fire Dept)

Lining up The Tickfaw Taxi / Bayou Outback Adventures to run taxi-shuttle.  More on this.  Might be bringing people
from the Hwy 22 boat launch at the bridge over the Tickfaw (across from Tin Lizzy's).
You can come even if you don't have a boat.  (We are still working on this, so check back!)  A special chance to see The Prop Stop
                even if you are boat-less!

Planned:  Crazy Charlie in the house,,,,,need I say more?

Planned:  Champagne Beverage (Budweiser) Cult Energy Drink with some cool gifts and throws.  Recognizing our designated drivers / skippers.

HEADS UP:  The Prop Stop has a limited capacity.  Get there early and grab you a good spot  (read the rules listed below).  You can anchor out and
just   enjoy the scenery and the music.
Bring ice, sun screen, AND some shade!  Please:  floatation devices, most especially if you are not a good swimmer.

ANOTHER HEADS UP:  Boats tied up at The Prop Stop can NOT play their music loud  A new rule, sponsor or not for this event)
However, we always have thoughtless   people wanting to show off.  Again, we will have our FM transmitter, so if you are anywhere
close, you can hear the days events!
We ask that you NOT come to a LIVE Music event and play your sound system loud.  Still, jerks will be jerks.

ANOTHER HEADS UP:  Designate a Responsible Skipper AND Driver!  Lots of River Patrols, keeping it safe for all of us!
