Trevor is another member of our "River Rat" family.  He sent me an e-mail the other day.  Here is what Trevor had to say:

Hello Mr. Rob,

My name is Trevor Vampran and I live on the Amite River not far from Fred's on the river. I have lived here my whole life and think of myself as a river rat.  I am a big outdoorsmen and love to kayak up and down the river. I even love to go hiking and biking. But lately I had been feeling sick, nauseous, and so on. So when I felt this way my  parents brought me to the doctor and they sent me to Woman's Hospital to get blood work done. The next day, Tuesday March 3rd, the test results were in and I was diagnosed with leukemia. We then drove to Memphis and I was admitted that night at St. Jude's Children's Research Hospital. I have been here since that night. Since I am now here in Memphis and not at home it is hard to get news from home. However I am a subscriber of your bulletin and that is really a big help on keeping up to date with what's going on back home. They say I should be here at least 6 months, so I can forget about the 2008 lake bash. I have now been on chemo for 4 days and I have to admit I feel pretty good. My mom says I am the toughest of all of us. My leukemia is very treatable and they think that they caught it early. So if I am strong and everyone back home is there to support me I think I can get through this in one piece.

P.S. This is the link to my page on carringbridge.com which is a site that people post updates about their status. If you want to look at it. It is still a work in progress but I hope to have it perfected  in a few days. I don't mean to bother but you are sort of a local celebrity to me.
So Thank you once again for helping me keep up to date with watsup on the River.

                                                                                                Sincerely,
                                                                                                                   Trevor S. Vampran

Trevor is away from home, missing his friends and family (and school).  He's doing the chemo thing, which I am told is not a lot of fun.  I am a tad busy until after we pull "The JAM" off (and get this map out), but after that, I plan to go visit Trevor in Memphis.  Trev tells me he can get us into Graceland for free because he is hanging at St. Jude.  I plan to turn him on to some of those Memphis-style ribs from Beale Street.

It's no fun being away from home.  Trevor tells me his school buddies text message him between classes.  That's pretty cool.  He likes hearing from people back home.  So, if you'd like to drop him an e-mail and say hello, his e-mail address is:   tvampran@aol.com

Trevor has a cool website going and you can check him out at:   http://www.caringbridge.org/visit/trevorvampran

HURRY UP AND GET WELL SOON, TREVOR!
